ABOUT THE SCMS

The Sapphire Coast Music Society is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to showcasing classical music of outstanding quality to members and supporters living in and around the beautiful Bega Valley. The society presents a number of concerts during the year featuring artists from Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, and international artists who include the Bega Valley and Narooma in their performing schedules. The Society, in conjunction with Co-Opera from Adelaide, presents a yearly opera. The SCMS in conjunction with the Bega Valley Regional Library offers a number of complimentary Twilight recitals.

Luciano Berio

Alice Giles has been celebrated as one of the world’s leading harp soloists. The Australian-born musician first attracted international notice when she won First Prize in the 8th Israel International Harp Contest at the age of 21.

Regarded by Luciano Berio as the foremost interpreter of his Sequenza II, Alice has participated in tributes to Berio at the Queen Elizabeth Hall London, Salzburg Mozarteum, and at the 92nd Street Y in New York to honour his 70th birthday.

Concert highlights include recitals in London’s Wigmore Hall, Merkin Hall NY, Frankfurt Alte Oper, Gulbenkian Foundation Lisbon, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Collegium Musicum Zürich, Badische Staatskapelle Karlsruhe, English Symphony Orchestra, Mainzer Kammerorchester, Danish Radio Concert Orchestra, Hamburg Mozart Orchestra, Ohio Chamber Orchestra, Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, and the Taiwan Symphony Orchestra

CONCERT TICKETS

SCMS concerts are hosted at Wolumla Memorial Hall, Wolumla-Candelo Rd., Wolumlla, NSW. All tickets are $25. There is no charge for children under16 when accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be purchased at the door the day of the concert, or from:

​Twilight Series concerts are free of charge but 'retiring donations' are most welcome. These concerts are a joint effort of the Bega Valley Regional Gallery and the Sapphire Coast Music Society. Bega Cheese Factory are the major sponsors for these concerts.​
