The Sapphire Coast Music Society is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to showcasing classical music of outstanding quality to members and supporters living in and around the beautiful Bega Valley. The society presents a number of concerts during the year featuring artists from Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, and international artists who include the Bega Valley and Narooma in their performing schedules. The Society, in conjunction with Co-Opera from Adelaide, presents a yearly opera. The SCMS in conjunction with the Bega Valley Regional Library offers a number of complimentary Twilight recitals.

The Sapphire Coast Music Society is proud to present David Pereira and Rachael Scott of “Bach in the Dark” performing music by Bach, Mozart, and Barrière.

Cellissimo! is a time when you can be ‘in the moment’ with the performers. A time when you can forget about the phone bill, or the shopping, or the dire state of Australian politics and simply listen.

This informal concert will run for just over an hour, with each piece introduced, so there’s no need to look at a program. There is no dress code, no rule about when to clap, no rule about how you are meant to ‘be’ as you are listening. It will be a night of great musical conversation.

A critic once said that Rachel and David’s playing “has the feel of a celebration, of untempered, free and loose-limbed music-making, where lines are shaped by boldness…”
